I just think it's kinda weird to describe what you're doing (laughing out loud) instead of just doing it - haha! Then there's the increasingly popular LMAO. I figure if I'm going to actually describe to you how I'm reacting to your comment, then I might as well give the highest honor of PMP. Because if I'm peeing my pants over what you wrote, then you have got to know that you're pretty damn funny!
And if we're following this style of writing, what do we say when we're actually not laughing. Maybe we're doing something else instead. Should we give full disclosure? Should I tell you that I'm SMOA (sniffing my own armpit) or PAW (picking a wedge) while reading what you wrote? Or how about BTT (bored to tears). Now that would really piss someone off! Or DFC (Don't F***ing Care!)
How about we all just start telling people how we REALLY feel or what we are REALLY doing instead of the obligatory LOL?

i HATE LOL. I think it's code for I have nothing else to say to something that should be funny but isn't.
SMHIA over this. Try figuring that out. I dare you.
Shaking my head in agreement.
I totally agree...I recieve text messages and for the life of me, days later I am still trying to work out what they have just said to me....
I really liked:
I'm SMOA (sniffing my own armpit)
and
PAW (picking a wedge)
I am guilty of a LOL once in a while. But I also use the haha! I just can not bring myself to use the BFF one though. But then again, I'm not 12 either. I just don't get some of these expressions. But you've come up with some good ones!

Great post! I tend to go with the *LOL* but I do throw a *HAHA* in there once in awhile.
LOL used to irritate me, but now I use it too much...I still revert back to haha though.

I couldn't agree more. I hate it when people use LOL every two seconds when they aren't even really laughing.
Xx
I'm a big fan of DFC. I hope you won't mind if I use it. It will apply to just about anything I see on Facebook.
@a H.I.T.: Slapping my Head in Amazement? Just a guess.
Hee hee! (That's the one I use the most). I don't think I've ever used LOL; I'm just too old and classically trained, I guess. We do need some way to communicate "I think what you wrote was funny and it's making me smile" (ITWYWWFAIMMS?)
Guess that's what emoticons are for!
:)
Hi glamour girl!
ever chatted with a Hispanic? you would see in your chat template "jaja" rather than "haha"; so how will you get on with this? I don't conclude where that sound comes from.
Liked your post :)
I like a simple haha better. At least it sounds like a laugh. Sometimes I write LOL to let people know that I found their post funny but I'm not really laughing out loud, its more of a chuckle. I'm not sure what to write to denote a chuckle...mayby hee hee? What do you think?
hahaha!! PAW is tooo funny!!
i am so guilty of useing LOL,LMAO,LMFAO etc...but i also use you had me giggling, hysterical, too funny...I guess I'm a equal opportunity LOL'er
